Summer is upon us, the warm winds and long days bring positive vibes and bright outlooks. One of my favorite parts of summer is the new music that comes out, and this summer starting off with a bang. The acclaimed Amerigo Gazaway just dropped a new mash-up album with the collaboration of two musical legends, Nina Simone and Lauryn Hill. The album Miseducation of Eunice Waymon is more than just a regular mash-up album, Amerigo’s orchestration and arrangements elevate the album to almost original collaboration. It was like Lauryn Hill and Nina Simone were in the studio together recording the album. Amerigo Gazaway always comes correct with his collaborations and this album is no different, go cop the album.

Aaron Livingstone aka Son Little is ready to drop his new EP Things I Forgot on November 11th on the ANTI- imprint. While in his past, he has collaborated with such artists as the Roots and RJD2, Son Little is going solo and creatively directing this EP. He has already released a few singles off the EP, the acoustic version of Cross My Heart is almost a new track in itself. The session was for Sessions Acoustiques series from Le Bruit Des Graviers, the emotion in this performance is great. While the rawness of his voice is balanced perfectly over the soft acoustic guitar. If you like that bluesy soulful rock, I highly recommend grabbing this EP. Son Little is the real deal!
The talented UK singer Liam Bailey just dropped his full length debut album Definitely Now this week. While he has released quite a few singles that ranged from rock, soul, to reggae, it has solidified his versatility. In this new album, Liam Bailey finds his distinct sound with bluesy rock, he is able to show his vocal range over the darker and rougher sound. Definitely Now is one of the best albums I have heard this year. Don’t Sleep!
