Canadians will argue whether Toronto is or has been the center for Canadian Rnb and Hiphop, but the last few years TO is making their case. Sorry folks, I am going to skip over Drake, but the Weeknd, I think was one of the first to put Toronto on the map. The success that The Weeknd garnered really helped many artists in Toronto get their music out to a wider audience. These younger artists are starting to turn heads, one of these artists is Allie, her sultry voice is so infectious. After hearing her music, it always feels too short, leaving you wanting more. Allie released an EP titled Strange Creature in 2013 but has slowly released some singles on her Souncloud page. The newest single I Cant Wait is a collaboration the producer Birthday Boy, and it is a smooth banger. Cop Allie’s EP and check the new single out.

Since the untimely death of the talented Aaliyah, neo-soul/rnb has had a huge void that no one has been able to completely fill. Well the time is now, Rochelle Jordan, the Toronto Songstress, is ready to step up and try to fill that spot. It is impossible not make the comparison between Rochelle Jordan and Aaliyah. As like Aaliyah, Rochelle Jordan has a powerful yet smooth voice, and the versatility of Rochelle Jordan’s voice is evident by the different productions styles she chooses to sing over. Rochelle Jordan has just dropped the new single Lowkey, the eerie and dark mellow beat flows perfectly with her smooth and calm voice. Check it out!
The long awaited return of Slakah The Beatchild is confirmed for January 6,2013 with his second instalment of Soul Movement. If you haven’t listened to the originally, drop whatever you are doing and go listen here. The song Enjoy Ya Self is still in my rotation even though the first album dropped in 2010. The super talented Toronto native creates these smooth rhythms with a blend of soul, funk, and hiphop. While volume 2 has been under wraps, Slakah released the video for the single Byram’s Groove(Cut a Rug), and it is a heater. You just want to get up and dance, the video doesn’t help, you find yourself trying to compete with those folks dancing. Check out the video below and cop the album here when it drops.
